Wasn't I so strong
Wasn't I so handsome
Couldn't I speak with my eyes
And didn't I have something
Now (through fret) I've lost my voice
And I've worried myself plane
And, yes, I've buried my head
But I swear I'll always want it.

I admit, I just stood there - eyes closed
Expecting the world to hold on
My mind saw caring to last
Up until mindful became mindless
Now it's all Sundays - head heavy
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays - eyes closed still
Thursdays and Fridays - I worry, just worry
And then it's Saturday
I'm calling old memories again
It's been so long, you know
I'll hold for freedom from that voice whispering my name
(Why don't you just talk down your ego?)

How the Leaves Lay

in my dream
we spoke
of how the leaves lay
and we moved
to place them all
back on branches
but you just stood there
and you left me trembling
when you dream
what places live in there?
